QuickBooks Chart & Expense Setup
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I opened a brand-new QuickBooks Online file in August 2025 and, apart from a few test uploads, nothing is truly configured yet. I now need the file structured correctly so that day-to-day bookkeeping runs smoothly and reporting is reliable.
Here is what I’m looking for:
• Chart of Accounts – I don’t have a template, so I’ll rely on your guidance to design a clean, logically numbered chart that matches my business model and meets standard accounting conventions.
• Expense Tracking – Help me define the right categories, set up vendors or tags where useful, and make sure every expense can be allocated quickly in the future.
• Fixed Assets – Create the registers, link them to the appropriate balance-sheet accounts, and set depreciation settings so that assets booked from August 2025 onward flow into the statements automatically.
Acceptance criteria
1. A finalized Chart of Accounts exported to Excel/PDF and live in QuickBooks.
2. Pre-built expense categories and sample expense entry demonstrating correct posting.
3. Fixed-asset section working, with at least one dummy asset showing depreciation posting correctly.
4. A brief hand-off note (or short Loom video) explaining how to add new accounts, expenses, and assets going forward.
If you’re experienced with QuickBooks Online and comfortable shaping a file from scratch, I’d love to get this wrapped up quickly so I can move on to regular bookkeeping.
