QuickBooks Bookkeeper for Interior Designer
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
I run a boutique interior design studio and keep all of our finances in QuickBooks Online. What I need every two weeks is simple but crucial: clean reconciliation of our bank and credit-card, followed by clear financial reports that let me see profitability by project at a glance. I need tax expense reports done for the year end as well.
Because our work is project-based, you’ll be matching client retainers, vendor deposits, freight charges, and FF&E purchases to the correct jobs. You should already understand how interior-design workflows translate inside QBO—particularly the ins and outs of purchase orders, client advances, and sales‐tax on décor items. I still issue invoices in-house, so your focus is strictly on keeping the books balanced and the reporting accurate.
Typical bi-weekly flow
• I share bank statements, credit-card feeds, and any outstanding receipts or vendor bills.
• You reconcile every transaction in QBO, flagging anything that lacks documentation.
• You deliver an updated Balance Sheet and P&L, both overall and by project, plus a brief note on any anomalies or trends I should know about.
Acceptance criteria
• All accounts reconcile to the penny with statements.
• No transactions sit in “Ask My Accountant” or “Uncategorized.”
• Reports are delivered within two business days of receiving source documents.
If you’re comfortable living in QuickBooks Online and already speak the language of interior-design projects, we’ll be a great fit.
