Advanced Accounting & Financial Analyst Superstar Needed
Budget: $30 – $60 NZD
We are a labour hire (recruitment) company in New Zealand and have a part-time ongoing position reporting to the managing director and owner. For example, some of the key projects include:
• ADVANCED MODANO FINANCIAL SKILLS. We use Modano (integrated with Xero) for consolidated and divisional reporting across all companies. In addition to monthly budget vs actual reporting on a consolidated and branch/business unit basis, the business reforecasts monthly which requires ongoing analysis of operational trends and collection of operational and financial information from within the business. You would be expected to be able to further develop and refine the models over time. There is a people element of the monthly reporting where you would be required to deal directly with and distribute reporting to business unit managers and address queries and issues raised. ****examples of prior work required*****
• MONTHLY REPORT WRITING. Utilising the information from the financial model above, and operational data from within the business, you would be expected to create draft monthly and quarterly financial reports for external distribution. As such good English and presentation skills are needed. ****examples of prior work required*****
• MICROSOFT POWER BI REPORTING. Currently the business does not utilise much in the way of KPI and dashboard reporting, but would like to begin doing so. You would require an in-depth knowledge of MS-PBI, and the ability to create automated and API links which assimilate various operational and financial data. Part of this includes helping identify what information needs to be collected, and how it should be presented and to who. ****examples of prior work required*****
• AVANCED EXCEL / POWER BI. We have a life and health insurance scheme with specific criteria for eligibility. With large numbers of candidates, and a constant churn of automated reporting needs to be developed to trigger the beginning and end of eligibility. ****examples of prior work required*****
• Design and implement short term cashflow forecast based on invoice and payment data from Xero.
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional analysis and advanced skills, yet be able to hold a fluent conversation in English, either in writing and over MS Teams video conferencing. Given the likely time different, it will be important that the is at lease some time window during New Zealand business hours that you are available.
A suitable candidate will be:
-Be completely trustworthy.
- Highly technically skilled and have proven prior experience.
- Have experience with Xero, and advanced accounting skills.
-Articulate and comfortable communicating in English.
-Able to prioritize work and comfortable with deadlines.
-Be a self starter and not just follow instructions, but to look for new opportunities and ways to improve existing processes, and confident enough to challenge with your own idea.
- be able to develop solid and trusted working relationships and communicate remotely, yet as a semi internal team member.
- Have a practical operational grounding. Over time to add value you will need to learn about the various operational aspects and business drivers, and not just pure accounting principles.
- Have perfect references.
This is an ongoing role. It is estimated this role will require 10+ hours per week across the month, however this is flexible.
