I'm seeking help to confirm my calculations regarding intestacy, Inheritance Tax (IHT), and asset distribution in a specific case. The deceased person passed away in February 2019 without a will, was married, and had a son. The surviving spouse is a non-UK resident. The estate consists of the following assets at the time of death:

Spanish house: £200,000
English house 1: £395,000
English house 2: £205,000
English house 3: £235,000
Watch: £40,000
Additionally, there are £22,000 in council tax expenses. The IHT has not been paid, and interest has accrued on the unpaid tax. I calculated the following:

Total estate value (at the time of death): £1,035,000 (property values) + £40,000 (watch) = £1,075,000
Taxable estate value: £1,075,000 - £325,000 (nil-rate band) = £750,000
IHT payable: £750,000 * 40% = £300,000
Unpaid IHT: £300,000, with an interest rate of 3% per year for 4 years, resulting in £36,000 of interest. Total IHT payable: £336,000
After-tax estate value: £1,075,000 - £336,000 = £739,000
Estate value after council tax: £739,000 - £22,000 = £717,000
Asset distribution:

Spouse inherits the first £270,000 and half of the remaining estate, for a total of £493,500.
Son inherits the other half of the remaining estate, totalling £223,500. I understand that tax laws and rates may change, and individual circumstances may vary. I also acknowledge that the assets in Spain might be subject to Spanish inheritance laws and taxes, which were not covered in these calculations. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
