Private DSLR Filming Techniques Coaching
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’m looking for a patient mentor who can walk me through every step of shooting professional-looking course videos with my DSLR. My priority is mastering the craft of filming itself—how to dial in camera settings, light a scene cleanly, and capture crisp, well-synced audio—so that I can later apply those skills to any course I create.
Here’s how I picture the engagement: we meet one-on-one (online or in person, whichever is feasible) for practical, hands-on sessions. You demonstrate a concept, I replicate it with my own gear, and you give immediate feedback. By the end of the programme I want to feel confident setting exposure, focus, and white balance, choosing lenses, arranging a basic three-point lighting setup, and wiring up mics so dialogue is clear and levels are correct.
Deliverables
• A series of live coaching sessions scheduled at mutually convenient times
• Concise cheat-sheets or quick-reference guides covering camera settings, essential lighting diagrams, and audio tips
• A short “test lesson” project that I film, submit to you, revise with your notes, and polish until it meets a professional standard
Acceptance criteria: I can independently film a two-minute lesson with proper exposure, balanced lighting, and clean audio, and explain the key settings I used.
I’m shooting on a DSLR and usually edit in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, so examples that reference those workflows will be extra helpful. If this sounds like a teaching style that fits you, let’s discuss scheduling and get started.
