Upgrading Messaging UX

Job ID: 40295953

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m ready to overhaul our in-app conversations and need an experienced product-focused designer-developer to bring three key improvements to life:

1. User interface redesign
• Create a Minimalist and clean layout that feels instantly familiar on web and mobile.
• Use a modern design system, clear iconography, and responsive components so every element scales gracefully.

2. Message notification system
• Build Customizable notification settings that let users decide which events trigger alerts and how those alerts appear.
• Think flexible toggles, granular sound/visual choices, and a preferences panel that’s easy to reach from any thread.

3. Search and filter capabilities
• Introduce fast, typo-tolerant search across messages and attachments.
• Add intuitive filters (date, user, file type, unread, starred) plus keyboard shortcuts for power users.

Deliverables
• High-fidelity prototypes (Figma, Sketch, or similar) showing happy-path flows, empty states, and error states.
• Component spec sheets and asset exports ready for engineering.
• A concise tech handoff document outlining API hooks, real-time update logic, and recommended libraries (e.g., WebSockets, indexed search).
• Post-handoff support for one feedback round.

Success for me means a polished, lightning-fast messaging experience that feels as seamless as the best consumer chat apps while remaining unmistakably Freelancer. If you’ve shipped real-time communication tools before, I’d love to see your portfolio and hear how you’d tackle these improvements.
