SVG mask in Figma

I have attached a simple .svg "path.svg" file to this project
I would a method to add a background layer to the image, and mask it to the outline. Outline = edges of the shape, not the inner detail paths. The mask should be a solid shape, so that it can be tinted behind the svg path.
An example is attached "mask.png" with thick stroke to illustrate the outline/edges. In this example, the mask is tinted white. It is positioned on a yellow canvas, so as to show clearly
