Product Designer - Design Systems Specialist UI
Budget: $500 – $600 USD
We're seeking a designer who understands fundamental design principles and systematic thinking, not just someone who can move elements around in design tools.
**Core Requirements:**
- Deep understanding of 4/8pt grid systems and their practical application
- Proven ability to maintain consistent spacing hierarchies and safe zones
- Strong grasp of mobile-first design principles (including standard 44/48px touch targets)
- Experience with systematic, scalable design approaches
- Attention to precision and detail in layout structures
**Your First Test:**
Tell us how you would approach consistent spacing in a mobile interface. If your answer includes arbitrary values like 120px headers or ignores safe zones, this role isn't for you.
Note: 15 -18 pages done, 20 to go. YOU WILL FOCUS ON PRECISION, SPACING, DISTANCING, PADDING, COMPONENT - MICRO INTERACTIONS AND ANIMATION BONUS POINTS. WE NEED TO FINISH IN ABOUT 7-10 DAYS MAX
**You Should:**
- Understand why we use specific spacing values
- Know the difference between responsive design and arbitrary scaling
- Be able to create consistent component libraries from scratch
- Think systematically about design decisions
**You Shouldn't:**
- Rely solely on templates
- Need to be told about basic spacing principles
- Propose complex solutions before mastering the basics
*Technical skills (Figma, etc.) are secondary to understanding fundamental design principles.*
#### To Apply:
Share your portfolio with specific examples demonstrating your understanding of systematic design principles. Include a brief explanation of your approach to spacing and grid systems.
*Note: While we use Figma, we're more interested in your understanding of design fundamentals than your tool proficiency.*
