This multi-chapter science fiction manuscript consists of 145,000 words (double spaced), with a heavy emphasis on science. The story is plot and character driven. There are no fancy words or prose.
We are hiring a total of four English-speaking readers (two men, two women) living in English-speaking countries, who love “old school” “science fiction.” They will read 2-4 chapters at a time and provide critiques and answer brief questionnaires at the end of each block of chapters.
We are NOT requesting editorial or proof reading services.
Payment:
We pay by the average word-hour (milestones) reading time: Maximum Earnings = $210.00.
The average person, if they read slowly and carefully, reads 238 words a minute, 14,280 words per hour. Therefore, we will pay $20.00 USD per hour (minimum 14,280 words).
It should take a maximum of 600 minutes (10 hours) for a skilled reader to slowly and carefully read all 145,000 words of this manuscript and answer each block of questionnaires.
Earnings Per Word: $1.50 USD per 1000 words, $15.00 per 10,000 words, 150.000 per 100,000 words, $210.00 per 145,000 words.
Readers / Reviewers will be paid per word (per hour), upon completing and providing feedback for each block of 3-4 unpublished chapters.
Reader / Reviewer Duties:
1. Chapters will be provided in blocks of two to four chapters.
2. Upon completing each block of 2-4 chapters, you will (A) complete a survey/questionnaire (B) write a two-four paragraph Plot & Character Summary.
3. You will be paid for work completed upon our receipt of the survey and summary for each block of 2-4 chapters.
4. The quality and helpfulness of reviewer’s critiques will determine if the reader will receive the next 2-4 chapters.

"Journey to Future Earth" could be likened to"Jurassic Park" meets "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" meets “Alien” except: there are no kids, no dinosaurs, no one shrinks, and there are no monsters onboard the spacecrafts. The story features astronauts, military officers, engineers and scientists and begins a few decades from now when a seven-ship armada on humanity’s first human mission to Mars meets with cosmic disaster en route to the Red Planet. An electromagnetic burst of energy sends them careening at light speed and burns out their electronics. Their crippled ships attempt to return to Earth only to discover... Earth is different...and something human-like is alive down below.
