Fiction Book Writer Wanted
Budget: £1,500 – £3,000 GBP
I'm in need of a talented writer to help me draft a Romantic Comedy fiction novel (based on a true story) with a boy gets girl/loses girl structure where they are is finally reconciled after an adventure. The book is intended for an adult audience.
Fun is key to any writing relationship with me. This will be a creative and light-hearted project and the two key characters are 1) a very British cricket player in Surrey and 2) a rodeo cowgirl from Edmonton Alberta.
I have written the first draft of the plot and need help. I am a reasonable business writer but have never been a creative writer nor have I ever composed a story from end to end. In its simplest, I need someone who can ensure that the plot is compelling, the characters as strong as they need to be, and the comedy as funny as ever.
Key Responsibilities Phase I:
- Discuss the plot, the phases (cute meet, inciting incident, etc.), and the various potential opportunities. Chemistry will be critical in any partnership.
- Review my draft and make recommendations for how they can help me refine a complete and cohesive Romantic Comedy storyline.
Phase II (based on the recommendations from phase I)
- Create well-rounded and relatable characters.
- Create sub plots and augment the core narrative to give it strength
- Maintain a consistent tone and style throughout the book.
- Edit and refine the prose to make it very readable and compelling.
What I'm Looking For:
- A writer with proven experience in the Romance and Comedy genres.
- Someone who understands both the British and Canadian context.
- Ability to create engaging, original content leveraging my core story line.
- A good understanding of the dynamics of adult fiction.
- Excellent command of the English language, with a flair for storytelling.
- Experience taking a book from concept to publishing.
