Title: Experienced Word Add-in Developer (Office.js / Word.js) for Document Automation Tool
Description:
We are developing a Word Add-in that simplifies and automates the editing of Word documents for our customers. The Add-in is already functional and connected to a Python (FastAPI) backend.
Our backend processes data (including scraped images and text) and sends it to the Add-in, which inserts this content into the Word document using content controls. The goal is to maintain consistent formatting and improve the user experience when editing structured documents.
What we need
We are looking for an experienced Word Add-in developer with strong knowledge of Office.js / Word.js to help us improve and extend our existing Add-in.
You should be able to:
• Work with Word content controls (insert, update, and manipulate text, images, and tables).
• Handle dynamic formatting so inserted content keeps the correct layout and order.
• Manage image placement and table structure, e.g., maintaining the correct sequence of images or merging content in structured layouts.
• Communicate effectively with our FastAPI backend.
Nice to have / Future goals
In the next development stages, we plan to integrate LLM-based workflows (e.g., having an AI model suggest or edit text directly within the document). Experience with this or general Python/AI integration would be a plus but is not required for this stage.
Tech stack

• Environment: Microsoft Word Add-in (web-based)

• Proven experience developing Word Add-ins using Office.js or Word.js
• Deep understanding of Word’s content controls
