React Staff Management MVP Build
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a production-ready MVP of a staff management system and have set aside a firm budget of $500. The front-end should be built in React, while you may choose between a Python (FastAPI or Django REST) or Node Express back-end—whichever lets us move fastest without cutting corners.
Core functionality for this first release must include:
• Employee scheduling with a visual calendar, shift conflicts flagged in real time
• Time tracking with start/stop timers, manual edits, and daily/weekly summaries
• Payroll management that exports hours, overtime, and rates in CSV or JSON
Please add basic authentication, role-based access (admin, manager, employee), a clean REST/JSON API, and connect to either PostgreSQL or MongoDB. Everything needs to sit behind Docker so I can spin it up locally.
Timeline is tight: I want the MVP running on a staging server within a month. We can split the budget into milestones—schema, API, UI, polish—so you get paid as each block is accepted.
Front-end: React with hooks, functional components, responsive layout (Material-UI or Tailwind is fine).
Back-end: your choice of Python or Express with JWT auth.
Version control on GitHub, daily commits; include a concise README for deployment.
Acceptance criteria
1. All three modules usable end-to-end on desktop and mobile.
2. Main API routes covered by automated tests.
3. Lighthouse performance score of 80+ on the dashboard.
4. Code passes ESLint or flake8 and is fully transferable.
