Freelance Front-End Developer – SvelteKit Report Rendering System
The Project
We're building a report rendering system that serves dual-purpose: interactive reports inside a Tauri desktop app and automated PDF generation for daily email delivery. Reports are defined once in SvelteKit and rendered both server-side (for PDFs) and client-side for live viewing. You'll own the front-end layer. The back-end is handled by an experienced project lead.
What You'll Build
SvelteKit report components with SSR support
Centralized design system — tokens for color, typography, and spacing that all reports inherit consistently
Playwright-driven PDF generation pipeline and automated UI test suite
Failure alerting and logging for scheduled daily report generation
Required Skills
SvelteKit — SSR, routing, component architecture
Svelte 5 — Runes reactivity model specifically, not just Svelte 4
Design systems — experience defining or consuming centralized themes via CSS custom properties or design tokens
Playwright — both automated UI testing and headless PDF rendering
Test-Driven Development — tests written alongside features, not as an afterthought
Fault-tolerant pipelines — structured logging and failure alerting for scheduled front-end jobs
Proof of Experience We're Looking For
A SvelteKit project (repo or live) demonstrating SSR usage
A design token or theme system you defined or maintained
Playwright test suite examples — coverage and thoughtfulness matter more than quantity
Any prior work involving automated report generation or scheduled jobs with logging
Nice to Have
Tauri desktop app experience
Familiarity with FastAPI or PostgreSQL
Experience with JSON structured logging or log aggregation tools
