Finish FastAPI & Next.js Project
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
An existing web platform built with FastAPI for the API layer, Next.js for the interface, and PostgreSQL as its data store is roughly 80 % complete. Core authentication, routing, and database models are in place, yet several pieces still need tightening before a production launch.
The immediate objective is to review the current repository, identify gaps, and implement the final set of fixes and enhancements. Outstanding work may include refining API response handling, extending a handful of endpoints, wiring the remaining React pages, polishing UI states, and cleaning up a few database queries that currently hamper performance. During our kick-off call we will agree on the exact priorities and sprint order, but code quality, test coverage, and deployment readiness are non-negotiable throughout.
Deliverables
• Refactored FastAPI endpoints with clear docstrings and automated tests
• Next.js pages fully integrated with the backend, responsive across devices
• PostgreSQL migrations/scripts reflecting any schema updates
• A concise README outlining setup, CI/CD commands, and production deployment steps
Acceptance criteria
1. All endpoints return expected data and pass unit & integration tests.
2. Front-end pages load without console errors and meet Lighthouse performance scores ≥ 90.
3. Database migrations run idempotently on staging and production.
4. The project builds from a clean clone using the README alone.
GitHub (or your preferred Git platform), Docker, and typical Python/JavaScript tooling will be used throughout the engagement. Once the listed deliverables meet the acceptance criteria, the project will be considered complete and ready for launch.
