Full-Stack Developer Required: Legal Data Analysis Tool

Project Overview
We're seeking an experienced developer to build a web-based database tool that analyses UK company insolvency data to identify specific legal compliance issues. The system will integrate with government APIs to extract and process company information, generating alerts for potential claims.

Technical Requirements

Essential Skills
- Python 3.11+ with FastAPI framework experience
- PostgreSQL database design and optimization
- API Integration experience (REST APIs, authentication, rate limiting)
- PDF Processing libraries (PyPDF2, pdfplumber, or similar)
- React/Next.js for frontend development
- Docker containerisation and deployment

Required Experience
- Building data extraction and processing pipelines
- Working with government/third-party APIs
- Implementing robust error handling and retry logic
- Database schema design for complex relationships
- Security best practices (JWT, OAuth 2.0, data encryption)

Project Scope

Core Functionality
1. Integrate with Companies House API to extract company and insolvency data
2. Download and process PDF documents (Statements of Affairs)
3. Implement name-matching algorithms to identify related companies
4. Cross-reference director information across multiple entities
5. Generate risk-scored alerts based on specific criteria
6. Build searchable web interface for data access

What We're NOT Looking For
- Desktop-only solutions (Access, VB.NET, etc.)
- Developers without Python/modern web experience
- Database-only developers (must handle full stack)
- Agencies (individual developers only)

Ideal Profile
A self-directed developer who has built multiple web applications handling complex data processing. You're comfortable working with external APIs, understand rate limiting challenges, and can implement robust error handling. Experience with legal/financial data is a plus but not required.

Note: This is a remote position. UK time zone preferred but not essential if you can overlap working hours.
