Lightweight Hiking Windbreaker Tech Pack
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I’m developing a packable windbreaker purpose-built for hiking and need a product designer who can take it from concept sketches all the way to a factory-ready tech pack. The focus is on an ultra-lightweight shell that still holds up on the trail, so every design choice—from seam placement to zipper selection—must revolve around weight reduction without sacrificing durability.
Here’s what I expect you to handle:
• Refine my initial concept into detailed garment drawings (front, back, and key construction zoom-ins).
• Source or specify fabrics and trims that keep the jacket feather-light yet sturdy; I’m open to suggestions on breathability or mild water resistance if they don’t add bulk.
• Build a full tech pack: graded measurements, BOM, stitching details, labeling, colorways, and any testing standards useful for outdoor gear.
• Package everything so a manufacturer can quote and sample with zero guesswork.
I’ll provide inspiration images, fit notes, and target pack-down size once we start. You’re welcome to use Adobe Illustrator, CLO 3D, or comparable tools—whatever lets the factory see every millimeter clearly.
Acceptance criteria
• Complete tech pack delivered in editable AI or PDF plus a spreadsheet BOM.
• Fabric and trim specs match the lightweight performance goal.
• All measurements and annotations follow industry formatting so sampling requires no re-draws.
If you’ve guided other outdoor garments from sketch to production, especially lightweight shells, I’d love to see them. Let’s create a windbreaker hikers will barely notice they’re wearing.
