Biomechanical Sportswear Designer Needed
Budget: $25 – $50 AUD
I’m looking for a specialized sportswear technical designer or product developer to create biomechanical-enhanced athletic wear.
Focus areas:
• Muscle support
• Joint stabilization
• Enhancing athletic performance
• Compression
• Breathability and moisture management
• Durability and freedom of movement
Ideal candidate should have:
• Expertise in compression and technical sports apparel design
• Strong knowledge of sports science and biomechanics
• Experience developing garments with biomechanical and performance features
• Ability to turn concepts into functional, high-quality prototypes and production-ready designs
• Familiarity with performance fabrics, material sourcing, and construction techniques
• Proficiency in CAD, patternmaking, and tech pack development
• Ability to collaborate with manufacturers and oversee sampling
Bonus if you have:
• Experience in testing garments with athletes or in lab settings
• Knowledge of global performance standards and certifications (e.g., medical-grade compression, ISO, ASTM)
• A portfolio showcasing similar projects
