I used to live in the UK with my ex-wife,we had a son born in April 1997.We seperated in June 1997 and divorce was finalised around 2000.I left to live in Spain in 2007 and which point contact ceased between us.
In august 2022 me and my son started exchanging messages through social media with a view to reconnecting.I insisted on a paternity test before hand as I now have a new family of which i am very protective.The test which we did a few months ago was by hair sample just me and him and it confirmed that I was not the father,which I believed was very possible.I wish to remove myself from his birth certificate but anticipate problems as we no longer exchange messages,although I have their address details.I have read online about what may need doing next like a more comprehensive test that the courts recognise but am unsure of the costs and procedures involved.
