Create and share GoFundMe project

Dear All,
I am posting this project in hope of assisting a very dear friend of mine. He has recently experienced much trauma and hardship - both emotional and financial. Approximately 12 months ago, his mother was diagnosed with a very rare blood disorder/disease and needed urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, her care, which included a long period of hospitalisation and medication needed to be funded by her family. So, my friend spent all of his life savings in desperate hope to save his mother's life! Unfortunately, she passed away a couple of months ago - leaving my friend heartbroken, but also financially broken too! Even worse, due to COVID-19 he lost his business - a very successful restaurant. So now, he and his son are literally HOMELESS and struggling to have a decent meal every day. We, his friends and family have tried to help and support them as much as possible. But, unfortunately, COVID-19 has created financial problems for most of us too. So, I am trying to find another path which may shed some light on this awful situation and give hope to my dear friend and his precious son. In my search I have discovered GoFundMe. It seems like a potentially good idea BUT I am not sure how to set it up, run it etc. So, I am hoping that someone here may have some experience with it and could guide me.
