Location-Based Outdoor Space App Development
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
(Backend + Test Frontend)
I'm looking for a skilled backend developer to help set up the technical foundation for a minimal, clean location-based app focused on outdoor spaces around Helsinki.
The concept is related to outdoor sports fields, courts, and playground discovery —
but the deeper idea behind the project will be shared fully after the project is accepted.
For now, I need to set up the technical structure that supports the map-based experience.
Key Technical Tasks:
Set up a lightweight backend (Node.js + MongoDB preferred)
Build the following:
Database storage for locations (name, emoji icon, GPS coordinates, photo URL, short description)
One API endpoint:
GET /nearby?lat=...&lon=... → returns locations within 5km
Free hosting setup (Render, Railway, etc.)
Build a simple test webpage:
Dark-themed map (Google Maps or OpenStreetMap)
Use emojis as pins
Tap pin = show small popup (photo + name + description + "Get Directions" button)
Focus on smooth, minimal, Uber-style map feel:
Dark background
Smooth pin loading
Clean simple popup, not heavy or overloaded..
i will send the mock ups of the project after we start to make it happen
