Studio Set Design for Educational Video
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I'm looking for a video set designer to consult on color coordination and set dressing. I'm colorblind, so I need an eye that understands how to do this well!
I have done projects like this several times before, however, I'd like this set to stand out from previous work. I've attached photos of some prior projects, and one of my backdrop in its current state. A few notes:
- This set is in my garage, which has 12' ceilings.
- I've already built a backdrop and used black shipping blankets for light control and acoustical deadening.
- I have a few more black curtains to stop all reflections in the screen - that works great.
- Excuse the mess in the current project photo - I'm working out audio so there are cables everywhere.
I'd like this to feel like an AV workshop. If you see the Yamaha video with the red brick - that's the feel I'd like to recreate. It is a "clean workshop", where we can talk about the tech side of production.
I was thinking of building a table with a butcherblock top on which I could put equipment we are demonstrating. However, I need someone to help me consider to figure out a stain that would go with the backdrop. From there, I need some help thinking about how to break up the monolithic wall. I thought about doing tools again, but I'm open to ideas.
The set will host lectures and small demonstrations from 1-2 people, as well as PowerPoint visuals. I have locations picked out to host full-scale demos, as necessary. I will be working with multiple clients, so the backdrop might not have company branding.
