4-Minute Kickstarter Campaign Video
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
Video Brief: 4-Minute Kickstarter Campaign Video
Seeking a video creator/editor with PROVABLE EXPERIENCE in Crowdfunding campaign videos.
1. Project Overview
- Goal: Create a compelling video to launch a Kickstarter campaign, clearly presenting the project's motivation, the product, and the funding offer.
- Duration: Approximately 4:00-4:30 minutes
- Tone: Sincere, informative, and fun, with a touch of history.
- Incorporating aspects of Pitch Video, Explainer Video and Brand Story
2. Raw Assets Provided
- Outdoor Background Footage: 7 minutes of continuous, 1080, stable outdoor scene of Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House to one side; Will serve as the primary background for the entire video.
- Monologue Footage: 4-5 minutes of a speaker delivering the script in front of a dark green non-shine wall. Not a green screen.
- Audio must be clean, professional quality, and synced with the video.
- Visual Assets (Photos/Screenshots): 25 low and mid resolution images (old B&W photos and product screen captures) to be integrated as visual aids throughout the monologue.
- Music Track: A non-distracting, uplifting, and royalty-free music track. To be layered underneath the voiceover.
B. Editor Deliverables
- 4-5 Minute Video: Edited, color-graded, sound-mixed, and exported in a high-quality web-friendly format (e.g., 1080 MP4). Could be reduced to between 3-4 minutes upon advice of editor.
- Sound Mix: Monologue audio must be clear and balanced with the background music track.
3. Editing Guidelines
A. Background & Speaker Integration
- Keying: Key out the green wall from the monologue footage.
- Integration: Merge the speaker seamlessly into the outdoor background footage. The speaker should appear as if they are standing in the scene(as best as possible).
- Positioning: Position and size the speaker so they are prominent and clear, but leave adequate negative space for the text overlays and the image transitions. Final placement should be determined by what looks best and leaves space for the image transitions.
- Consistency: The background should be stable and the lighting/color grading of the speaker must match best as possible the background scene to create as realistic composite as possible. However, lighting on the speaker and background may not sync fully.
B. Visual Transitions (Images)
- Placement: The 25 images must be strategically timed and integrated into the video to coincide with the relevant points mentioned in the speaker's monologue.
- Display: Images should transition in and out smoothly (e.g., a simple fade or subtle slide). Avoid overly complex or distracting transitions.
- Presentation: Display the images at various sizes as appropriate to the script. The image can completely obscure the speaker if appropriate.
C. Text & Branding
- Lower Third: A simple, professional lower third graphic should introduce the speaker at the beginning (Speaker name and project name).
- Call-to-Action (CTA): A strong, clear on-screen text overlay must appear in the final 15-20 seconds with the project name and a simple CTA (e.g., "Back the Project Today!").
