Currently, we receive weekly updates in the form of Excel files, encompassing new proposed laws and amendments to existing ones. Our team manually reviews each record to identify updates to tracked mandates and decide on new mandates for monitoring. The primary objective of this project is to streamline and automate the mandate tracking and review process by leveraging Microsoft SharePoint, Monday.com, and Power Automate. Specifically, we aim to create a seamless workflow that can automatically assess new files, identify updates to existing mandates, and facilitate effective communication within the team.
Current Workflow:
Receive weekly updates in the form of Excel files.
Manual review of each record to determine if it's an update to an existing mandate or a new mandate for tracking.
Utilization of Monday.com to track mandates and communicate with team members.
Challenges:
The current challenge lies in optimizing the use of Power Automate to create a flow that reads the newest uploaded file in the SharePoint document library. This flow should then compare the contents with the 'Tracking' group on the Monday.com board, using specific columns as criteria. The goal is to efficiently identify updates to existing mandates and, if not tracked, automatically upload them to the 'Review Required' group on the Monday.com board.
