auto populate excel file from name
Budget: $2 – $8 AUD
I need to auto populate cells in excel. Example: Cell A1 contains this image file name "bluedog_(12.2x15).tif". I need Cell B1 to auto populate with "12.2" and Cell C1 to auto populate "15". The goal is to list image file names in column A, these image file names always include the size in parentheses in this format: _(BxC).
I want column B to return the first numeral and column C to return the second numeral. Some of the sheets will have just a few file names and others will have hundreds of file names. I do not know how to write this formula. The consistent will always be a file name in column A with the size in parentheses. The information always needs to come from between the _(BxC), where B in this example is placed in column B and C is placed in column C. In some files their may be other parentheses but none will have "_(" or ")." except for the part that needs harvested.
