Visual Basic Automation (Project and Excel)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am seeking a Visual Basic developer in Microsoft Project Standard and Excel (2016 and later) to accomplish the following:
Microsoft Visual Basic 2016 or later
Microsoft Excel 2016 or later
I want a visual basic for applications script (Macro) inside Microsoft Project that when executed, will insert a list of tasks below the current selected task, from a specified Microsoft Excel document. There could be tasks below the selected tasks, so insert versus writing over lines.
The tasks should be inserted as auto-scheduled tasks. Each predecessor should be the task before, except the first task which the user will have to manually define the predecessor.
Column 1: Tasks
The Excel input will have a list of tasks, up to 1000 tasks in the order they should be inserted.
Column 2: Duration
Column 3: Resource assignment (If resource not defined, should add at runtime as 100 units available)
We have many tasks, like manufacturing a component which always follow the same tasks (maybe 100+)
with nearly the same durations. There may be 100 components in a given project file
and it is very tedious to insert common task lists.
