VBA function selecting date range and update a chart

I have a macro that copies and pastes data from another file. I would like to add functions to the macro, that after copying the inputbox would appear and I would enter the date, e.g. 2020.08.31 and the function would mark the annual range, i.e. to 2019.08, and update the charts. It will always be an annual scope
