Using MS-Excel to manipulate data in the remote database. (db running locally)

I am looking for someone who can help me do following,
read a database using ms excel and display it in a sheet.
update and delete via excel (the changes should be in the db)
a button of some kind to add new data.
use of VBA is possible.
No use of MS Access.
