TikTok Data Scraping and Organization
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We need someone to scrape website data and social media posts.
Please download every Tiktok post from Return Home: https://www.tiktok.com/@returnhomenor?lang=en We will need the videos, text description, hashtags, and all comments (and their associated data). In doing so, we ask that you create an Excel spreadsheet, a folder with video downloads, and a folder of Word documents that include the comments on each video. We provide a detailed description below.
1. Excel Spreadsheet:
Please create an excel spreadsheet with the following columns.
Column A: Label: “Video title”
In this column, please provide the video title to match the title of the video
download. For example, if you look at this TikTok video (https://www.tiktok.com/@returnhomenor/video/7164090596796157230?lang=en), you would label the cell in this column: “Allow us to introduce ourselves!”
Column B: Label: “Hashtags”
In this column, please provide all of the hashtags included in the post. For example, for the same TikTok video shared above, you would put the following string in this cell in this column: “#terramation #humancomposting #naturalburial #greenburial #mortician #funeraldirector #greenfuneralhome #greenfuneral #deathcare #naturalburial #deathtok”
Column C: Label: “Number of likes”
In this column, please provide the number of likes the video has.
Column D: Label: “Number of comments”
In this column, please provide the number of comments the video has.
Column E: Label: “Number of saves”
In this column, please provide the number of saves the video has.
Column F: Label: “Date”
In this column, please provide the date on which you collected/downloaded/scraped these data.
2. Folder of Video Downloads
Please download the TikTok video in a standard format (e.g., MP4) and label the video file with the title of the video in the description. For example, if you downloaded this TikTok video (https://www.tiktok.com/@returnhomenor/video/7164090596796157230?lang=en), you would label the video file “Allow us to introduce ourselves!” Please create a folder that includes each of these downloads for Return Home’s TikTok account.
3. Folder of Comments
Please create a folder that includes Microsoft Word documents with the comments of the video. Create one Word document for each TikTok video. Label the word document to match the video label. For example, if you created a Word document for this TikTok video, you would label the word document file “Allow us to introduce ourselves!” In the word document, please copy and paste all of the comments (including emojis) for the video, including the date and number of likes. As an example, below is how a subset of the comments should look pasted into the Word document. (Given TikTok's algorithm, your comments may appear in a different order. Also, you would need to download all of the comments, not just a subset.)
