I have a column of raw text entries and I need a clean, reliable frequency distribution presented as a simple table of unique values with their counts. The entire job will be carried out in Microsoft Excel—no other software required.
Here’s the workflow I have in mind: import or paste the text data into its own sheet, run the necessary steps (PivotTable, Power Query, or any formula-driven approach you prefer) to extract each distinct string, and produce a second sheet that lists every unique term alongside its occurrence count. The final workbook should be easy to refresh if more rows are added later.
Deliverable
• An Excel file containing:
– Sheet 1: original data untouched
– Sheet 2: frequency table (text value | count) with refresh capability
