Small job for Excel Expert, 2x Formulas VBA, Macros: Index Match, Find & Replace

I am looking for an Excel expert to assist me with two specific formulas relating to INDEX/MATCH, and FIND & REPLACE. Can use formula, VBA, Macros
Job1:
Require formula to match and look up the set of SKU numbers in 2 different spreadsheets. The sku number is made from up to 4 columns (primary sku, variant1, variant2, variant3). The issue is one set of data has the order of these columns mixed up i.e. primary sku, variant2, variant3, variant1 - the order can vary.
Requirements:
I need a solution to sort and product both variant SKU's so they are the same. See attached image and spreadsheet as example
Job2:
Require formula to find and replace data in a cell where the symbol "*" exists between characters, and replace with a "x"
There should be no spaces between the "*" .. If there is a space then the "*" should not get replaced
Examples:
1*2
A*B*C
12*89*340cm
The size of the box is 53*64*10cm. Good size for shipping
Change to:
1x2
AxBxC
12x89x340cm
The size of the box is 53x64x10cm. Good size for shipping

Column1 return the characters found containing the *
Column2 return all text in cell with the "*" replaced with x
Your SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with VLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH formulas
- Experience in working with specific datasets
- Ability to extract specific data using the formulas
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Excel functions and be able to apply the VLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH formulas to a specific dataset in order to extract the desired data. This project requires attention to detail and the ability to accurately analyze and extract specific information from the dataset.
