Project Intelligence Analyst – Mining (WA) & Construction (Australia)

About the Role
Blue Diamond Machinery is seeking a freelance Project Intelligence Analyst to identify and track upcoming mining and construction projects that may require temporary or remote power solutions.

The objective of this role is to provide early project intelligence—identifying opportunities before procurement begins.

Focus Areas
• Mining projects: Western Australia (Pilbara, Goldfields, regional developments)
• Construction projects: Australia-wide (major infrastructure, renewables, industrial construction)

What You Will Do
• Identify upcoming or active mining and construction projects
• Map the contractors and EPC companies involved
• Identify decision makers (Project Managers, Construction Managers, Procurement)
• Assess whether projects may require temporary power, generators, hybrid power systems, or battery energy storage
• Maintain a structured project intelligence database and provide weekly updates

Typical Projects to Track
• Mine developments and expansions
• Processing plants and mining camps
• Rail, road, and tunnel projects
• Renewable energy construction (solar, wind, BESS)
• Large civil construction projects
• Remote construction compounds and batch plants

Ideal Candidate
Experience in one or more of the following:
• Mining industry research
• Construction or infrastructure project tracking
• Industrial equipment market research
• B2B lead generation in energy or heavy equipment sectors

Familiarity with Australian contractors such as CPB Contractors, John Holland, UGL, Downer, Acciona, NRW, MACA, Monadelphous is highly valuable.

Skills Required
• Strong online research capability
• Ability to identify project announcements, approvals, and contractor awards
• Data organisation using Excel or Google Sheets
• LinkedIn research and contact identification

• 10–20 new project opportunities identified
• Contractor and project mapping
• Decision-maker contacts
• Updated project intelligence spreadsheet
