Manufacturing Shift Leader Needed

Job ID: 40328354

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I need an experienced production shift leader who can take immediate ownership of a high-volume manufacturing line. You will be the point person on the floor, steering assembly line production, driving quality control, and making sure every machine keeps running safely and efficiently.

The environment already follows basic Lean principles, but I want someone who can sharpen them: spot waste fast, tighten cycle times, and keep the team engaged in continuous improvement. Strong, positive leadership is essential—you’ll be coaching operators, organising quick stand-ups, and jumping in with practical problem-solving whenever a defect or downtime risk appears.

Key things you must bring:
• Proven application of Lean manufacturing principles in a live plant
• Hands-on experience overseeing assembly, quality, and machine operation simultaneously
• Clear, confident team leadership and calm, structured problem-solving under pressure

Typical week:
Day-to-day, you’ll monitor KPIs, coordinate with maintenance on any machine issues, and sign off on in-process quality checks. Longer term, I’ll look to you for small Kaizen projects and concise shift-end reports that highlight wins, issues, and corrective actions.

Deliverables I expect from you after the first month:
1. A streamlined shift-handover template in Excel or Google Sheets that captures uptime, scrap, and safety notes
2. A short action plan (PowerPoint or PDF) outlining at least two Lean improvements you have piloted and their early results
3. Updated work instructions or checklists where you have spotted gaps that affect quality or safety

If you are ready to lead from the front, keep the line moving, and leave every shift in better shape than you found it, I’d like to hear how you would approach the role and your earliest availability.
