I need a calculation tool in Excel, that will help me determine how many units of boards (in different lengths) I need in order to cut a certain amount of boards (also in different lengths) from it.
The desired output lengths are: 24", 36", 41", 50", 70" and 82".
Boards can be purchased in the lengths of: 96", 120", 144", 168", 192".
I need to know how many of which boards to purchase in order to cut a certain amount of the desired output boards.
Attached you find a draft of how the solution should look like. Probably you will need to code a VBA algorithm for this.
