Excel help, might need to use index or arrays
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Hi there! My name is [your name], and I'm looking for help with my Excel project. I'm using Microsoft Excel as the spreadsheet program and need help creating a formula to fit my requirements. While I am familiar with formulas, I am not as comfortable using more advanced formulas like indices and array functions. I would really appreciate if someone could lend me a hand understanding how to use them.
Please see the sample document.
I'm going to have 1 worksheet for each month of the year in the workbook.
They will all have a list of medications in column A1, the contents and order will not be the same each month.
Columns B1:P1 are just abbreviations for hospitals and will always be in the same order.
Columns R & S will be populated by hand and will be used in formulas later.
Columns T,U, and V have simple formulas you can see in the sheet.
Column W is just a spacer.
Now comes the fun part:
X1 is a dropdown list and the source for the list is $B$1:$P$1
When I pick one of my hospitals from the X1 drop down I want it to wind up looking like you see in the sheet for columns X:AD.
I manually did X:AD to look like what I want, so if I picked a different hospital from the dropdown I would want it to provide the information for that particular hospital, so there will often be a different number of rows.
I'd also like the sum total of AC and for AD, but if that adds too much complexity I can live without it because it's easy enough to get the sum once all the information is there.
I've tried to be as clear as possible but if you have questions please let me know.
