Excel automation

I have monthly reconciliations I need to do on a very large excel file. I currently do this via vlookups and downloading a copy of the ledger. so working on two spreadsheets. From this exact file I need to split the file up into multiple files. hoping someone can automate this process for me to make life easier. perhaps a VBA script(s)
