Excel - VLookup - Cleanup

I have two Excel sheets. I am using the company name field from both sheets to match using VLookup and populate an ID field. Most matching is done but there are differences in some company names which effect the accuracy. I need this cleaned up so all possible matching is complete. This means normalizing the company names on both sheets so they match exactly. There will be duplicate names occasionally and the most complete name will survive the edit process and be matched.
