Excel Templates for Government PMO Reporting
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Excel Consultant or Analyst to develop and finalise a suite of project management and financial reporting templates for a local government PMO (Project Management Office). This task is based on a scoped brief from a PMO Lead and includes integrating data from capital works budgets, quarterly project updates, and legislative financial compliance (CITB levy).
⸻
What You’ll Be Delivering:
You will build or refine the following documents in Microsoft Excel:
1. Capital Works Reporting Template (FY 2025/26)
• Based on our Three-Year Capital Works Plan
• Clean, structured format with project phase tracking, status, officer, and budget
• Dropdowns for status (Not Started/In Progress/Completed) and phases
2. Quarterly Project Update Report
• Separate tabs by category: Drainage, Civil, Open Space, Building, Recreational, Misc, External
• One master tab with a consolidated overview
• Fields include project name, budget, phase, grant funding, Q1–Q4 updates, and risks/issues
• Real data for Q1 (already provided) to be inserted; other quarters will remain placeholders
• Professional formatting, freeze panes, readable layout for Council-level use
3. CITB Register (2024/25–2030/31)
• Based on compliance with South Australia’s Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) levy
• 0.25% levy calculator (automated) for projects over set thresholds
• Separate sheets for each FY, including instructions and compliance reference
• Dropdowns for “Levy Applicable”, “Paid”, and conditional formatting for missing info
4. Dashboard Summary Tab (optional but preferred)
• Visual charts for project counts, budget allocations by category, and levy totals
• Summary KPIs (e.g., % projects on track, grant funding received)
5. Instruction Sheet for Each Workbook
• Concise, professional guidance on how to update and maintain each template
• To include status color key (Green/Amber/Red), update instructions, and quarterly reporting expectations
6. Visual Polish
• Consistent color palette and fonts
• Optional: City of Prospect branding (we will provide logo if needed)
• Footer with file version and date
• File to be Teams and Content Manager ready
What We Expect:
• Strong command of Excel (data validation, formulas, formatting, structuring for multiple audiences)
• Experience building PMO, engineering, or government reporting tools
• Ability to interpret raw data and build clean, executive-ready outputs
• Precision, structure, and respect for data integrity
• Optional bonus: familiarity with South Australian local government or public infrastructure projects
⸻
Deliverables:
• One master Excel workbook with all templates
• Separate workbook for quarterly updates (detailed and categorized)
• Instruction tab(s) + optional dashboard
• All files clean, formatted, version-controlled and upload-ready
