Excel Random Space Cleanup

I have an Excel workbook where stray spaces are popping up between words in cells all over the sheet. The columns affected change from row to row, so a simple column-by-column trim won’t do the trick. What I need is a clean, repeatable way to strip every unnecessary internal space while keeping single spaces that belong there and leaving all other characters untouched.
A quick VBA routine, Power Query step, or clever formula set is fine—as long as it scans the entire file, fixes the spacing issue reliably, and lets me rerun the process on future data drops without manual tweaking.
