Job Description:
I need an advanced Excel system built to track time per task in our production cycle and use that data to build automated production schedules for our manufacturing shop.
What I need:
1. Employee Time Tracking:
• Employees will use tablets with Excel to:
• Select the task they are working on.
• Hit Start and Stop buttons (recording timestamps automatically).
• Mark tasks as Complete.
• The system should capture:
• Employee Name
• Task
• Start Time
• Stop Time
• Total Time Spent
• Completion Status
• Date
• Data should save automatically in weekly sheets for organization.
2. Calculate Standard Task Times:
• After we have 10 completed entries for each task, the system should calculate the average time per task to establish our planned time allowed for each task.
3. Production Scheduler:
• I need a separate sheet with a “Start Production” button that generates a new sheet for each new pool we build.
• We will select options/features for the pool, and the system will:
• Calculate total hours required for each department based on planned task times.
• Use our manpower data (number of employees in each department, 5 days/week, 8 hours/day) to calculate how many workdays each department will need to complete the required tasks.
• Show when each department will start and finish each pool based on other pools already in production.
• Predict total completion date for each pool.
4. Dashboard:
• A dashboard to display:
• Average time per task (actual vs planned).
• Pools currently in production.
• Department capacity utilization.
• Projected completion timelines for all pools in the queue.
• Visual charts and clean formatting for easy use on the shop floor.
Technical requirements:
• Must use Excel with macros (VBA) for buttons and automation.
• Should allow us to use OneDrive/SharePoint for syncing across tablets.
• Structured and organized for scaling and clean user experience.
