Excel Formatting Expert Needed for Project Planning Spreadsheet

I'm in need of a skilled professional with a strong background in Excel formatting and design. The main purpose of the spreadsheet is for project planning.
I have attached a file to help with understanding the project.
What I'm trying to do is come up with a better / more visually appealing way to show my customer where their project is at, at any given time.
In the attached example you can see that I've used an "X" to denote which part of the process the job is at.
I'm looking for a more sophisticated and easier to read way of doing this.
