Excel Football Field Project Tracker
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a creative Excel expert who can design a project tracking system using a visual of an American Football field to track the status of projects.
Key Features:
- Prefer the solution to be in excel Ideal
- The tracker should accommodate more than 10 different activities or milestones. Ability to add additional activities or milestones based on % complete.
- The horizontal placement of the items will correspond to the yard line = % complete, which will update the visual on the field.
- The vertical placement is just whatever fits best and is readable.
- The design should be extremely professional and something we could present to executive leadership on our project status. It should be user-friendly and efficient for high-level project tracking.
- On the bench – those are things that are longer term and not in the scope for the project at this time. Therefore, are not on the visible field. On the bench items will be listed, to the left of the field but not appear on the field
- Items where the % complete are blank they do not appear on the field.
- Completed items (100%) will be visible on the right side of the field, but not on the field.
This is the concept picture that shows a bit what we had in mind (in attachments)
I put all my tasks associated with the large project in smart sheets. Smartsheet exports to excel very easily. When I explore the data into excel it looks like this (see Action Item.xls)
I use column A (task) and column E (%complete) to create my football field
The items need to be readable on the field, anything between 1-99% complete should show on the field. I am trying to keep this under 30 that are on the field at any time.
If the column is blank for % complete I do not add it to the football field
If the column is 100% complete, then it can go in the endzone on the right as complete.
If the column says “on the bench” it goes to the left of the football field
(not on the field yet)
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in Excel with experience in creating innovative and interactive spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with project management principles.
- Ability to incorporate visual elements into Excel.
- Previous experience with similar projects will be highly regarded.
