Data Analysis (Stock Market instruments)
Budget: $30 – $250 SGD
To Analyze Nifty (NSE India) data (readily available on NSE website) and give data of Nifty movements to depict the below
1. Trends (%) of Nifty movements each day, each week, each month for last 20 years
a. Friday to Thursday consider one week and Last Friday of the month to last Thursday of the next month consider as one month.
b. And also Weekly and Month – Follow English calendar (Monday to Friday – one week) and Calendar month.
c. % Movement to be captured considering all of the below:
i. open of the current period (day/week) to close of (day/week/Month)
ii. previous period close to close of current period (day/week/month)
d. Data of period high/low Vs period open/close
e. Data of Gap up/Gap down each period
f. For calculation of % movement each period (Day/week/month/year) , you may take nifty level at the beginning of the period
2. Data needed
a. To understand NIFTY movement (Average move per period, how the yearly moving up or down happens, etc). To see if Nify stays in any particular range majority of the times.
b. How many days/weeks in a year nifty stays in what % range (Random example - within 0-0.5% - 10% (20 days in 200 workings day), etc).
c. Daily trends adding upto total movement for the week
d. Weekly trends adding upto total movement for the month
e. Mapping of daily, weekly, monthly movement to respective years movement
f. All the above analysis keeping in VIEW to capture any visible trends.
3. Apply input variables (like Vix) to 1 above to depict impact of Vix on the Nifty movement (if any)
4. Annual budgets, RBI announcements and other special days impact of Nifty movement. (Nify is likely to give big moves during these days). It might be also good to look at the yearly movement excluding these days
Who ever is confident to do it, can discuss over a 10 min call for any questions. Understand what is needed and be able to deliver in 1-4 hours of playing with the excel data. Preferably today. Also, we could slot in 30 min after your submission to review the data for any changes. Most data is readily available from the web. I need help to use the right tools to create the right Dashboards giving the information described above. Once done, I hope to use this template to dump data of other instruments (like other Indices and stock) and be able to refresh data. Indicative excel is attached for reference only.
