Create searchable large scale excel work books cost data

I have several large excel workbooks on projects, that I want to create a search capability to harvest cost data across a number of projects. I need a freelancer, who really knows how to do this, can communicate, via web or phone to go over work progress. Be able to demonstrate this in the interview.
