Comparison Excel Model
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I use two programs regarding patient care and billing.
1. PM: (see attached) creates an excel spreadsheet that includes the:
. a. Patient’s name
. b. Date of service
. c. Account Number (should be unique to each patient)
. d. CPT (procedure code)
. e. Modifier (column after CPT code) – indicates which eye or something else
. f. Units billed (1 or 2)
. g. Charge
. h. Payment – there can often be two or more payments for one CPT code on the same date of service
. i. Adj - Write Off (how much was not paid)
2. EMR: (see attached) creates an Excel sheet that includes
. a. Patient’s Name
. b. Date of Service
. c. Account Number
. d. CPT
. e. Modifier
I would like to create an Excel model that
1. Upload both excel sheets
2. Compares each sheet to make sure that:
. a. Every patient is on both sheets
. b. Every date of Service is on both sheets for the corresponding patient
. c. Every CPT code (and modifier) is on both sheets
If anything is present on one sheet but not the other a report should be made that indicates:
1. Patients in PM but not EMR
2. Patients in EMR but not PM
3. CPT in PM but not EMR
4. CPT in EMR but not PM
I would also need to create a modifiable table of CPT’s and the
1. Expected charge
2. Expected range of payments
. a. A procedure, for example 92014 may pay differently for one patient than another
. b. The “range of payment table” will indicate if the payment for a procedure is
. i. within the acceptable range
. ii. outside the acceptable range
The model should create separate reports (sheets) for:
1. patients in PM but not EMR
2. Patients in EMR but not PM
3. Procedures in EMR but not PM
4. Procedures in PM but not EMR
5. Payments that fall outside of the “Expected Range of Payments”
6. CPT’s that were not paid at all (0 payment)

I will create and release a milestone only upon COMPLETION of the project to full satisfaction. I will not release milestones along the process. An incomplete task is worthless to me.
