College Grading Excel Sheet Creation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I'm in need of a proficient freelancer who can modify existing Excel spreadsheets I use to calculate final grades for my college classes. The sheets automatically calculate grades based on a letter grade (A-F) scale, but need to be updated in order to accommodate a new grading scale I have adopted. This involves the following key requirements:
- Automatic Grade Calculation: The Excel sheet should be capable of computing the final grades based on individual scores.
- Letter Grade System: The sheet should use a letter grade system (A-F) for grading.
I am using a relatively new grading system to determine final grades in my college courses. It is called SPECS grading (short for “Specifications” grading). To summarize, a student will “Pass” an assignment if their performance meets or exceeds criteria (“specifications”) I established in advance. Otherwise, if the student does not meet the said criteria, (s)he will “Fail” the assignment. So, this final grading scale does NOT require students to work toward accumulating points over the semester, or to consider percentages of total points earned over the semester either. Instead, students will earn a final grade based on how many assignments they “passed” over the entire term.
The online course management system which hosts my courses (called Canvas) has a gradebook, which can be downloaded and saved as an Excel spreadsheet. However, the Canvas gradebook only presents raw points earned with each assignment, as opposed to calculating letter grades.
What I need: Update 3 Excel spreadsheets that (a) convert points associated with each assignment to either a Pass (P) or Fail (F) letter grade, (b) to count how many P or F grades a student earned within each assignment category, and (c) yield a Final grade (A, B, C, D, or F), based on how many assignments within each assignment category a student Passed. Instructions for updating each spreadsheet to a new grading scale are found in the attached zip file.
I have sample data from spreadsheets with old formulas PLUS instructions for you to work with in the attached zip file to convert them to my new specifications. This will hopefully ensure that the formulas are tested with realistic data and produce accurate results.

I need the changes by November 21st.
An ideal candidate would be someone with strong Excel skills and experience in academic grading systems. Please include your relevant experience in your proposal.
