18th Century Star Catalogue Convert to Excel
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I have a need to transform an existing star catalogue into an Excel worksheet.
The attached file is a pdf scan of an original work. The actual catalogue starts on page 15 (471). Convert this catalogue to excel format.
Note that:
- Maintain the original headers used in the catalogue with the exception of the year (see below).
- A dash "-" in the catalogue means to copy the entry above.
1783 converts to Date
Dec 19 converts to Dec 19 1783
- converts to Dec 19 1783 (since it has a dash and follows that date from the row above.
- converts to Dec 19 1783
- Entries are organized by year. The year should be included in the date entry as in the example above.
- Greek letters in the "stars" column (indicated by parentheses) should be relegated to a new column.
- The spaces in M.S. and D.M. columns indicate these entries are to be split into 2 columns.
- Some rows include combined entries in the original. They should be separated; one row per item number.
A sample of a few rows, particularly 17 and 18 in your project proposals would give me confidence that you have read these notes, looked at the file and understand the task.
