AutoCAD Alignment Sheet Automation via Excel (VBA/.NET)

Project Description:
I’m looking for an experienced CAD/Excel developer to automate the creation and population of alignment sheets in AutoCAD using data held in an Excel workbook. Right now I’m manually updating stationing, offsets, elevations, and curve parameters in the alignment drawing—this is time-consuming and error-prone. Your task will be to build a robust workflow (script, plugin or add-in) that:

Reads alignment data from a predefined Excel template (stations, geometry, notes).

Connects to the open AutoCAD drawing (Civil 3D or plain AutoCAD).

Automatically places/lables alignment elements (points, labels, curves, reversals) according to my CAD standards.

Updates the drawing whenever the Excel data is changed (ideally with one click).

Key Requirements:

Proven experience automating AutoCAD with Excel (VBA, AutoLISP, .NET API, or similar).

Solid understanding of alignment geometry (stations, tangents, curves, PI, PC, PT).

Ability to read/write Excel files programmatically.

Familiarity with Civil 3D alignment objects is a plus.

Clean, well-commented code and a simple user interface (“Run” button or ribbon tab).

Deliverables:

A working script or add-in that:

Reads from my Excel template.

Draws/labels alignments in a sample DWG.

Can be rerun to update geometry and labels.

Installation/usage instructions (PDF or Word).

Source code (VBA module or .NET project) with comments.

A short demo video (optional but appreciated).

Timeline & Budget:

Ideally completed within 1–2 weeks of contract start.
