I need a straightforward Excel workbook that lets me calculate the material cost of a steel sheet-metal part in seconds. The scope is limited to material costs only; labor and overhead are not required.

Here’s what the file should do:
• Accept inputs for grade, thickness, blank size (length × width), and an adjustable scrap rate.
• Use those values to work out weight automatically and multiply it by a single, easy-to-update price-per-kg cell.
• Show the final material cost clearly, with supporting subtotals where helpful.
• Keep the layout clean—label cells, protect formula areas, and add simple conditional formatting so obvious input errors stand out.

Please stick to native Excel formulas; no external add-ins or VBA are necessary, though a compact helper sheet explaining the logic would be useful for future tweaks. Once delivered, I should be able to hand this to shop-floor staff who can adjust only the price and part dimensions while everything else updates automatically.
