Robust Excel Tool for Project Management
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
PSM Welding is a specialist welding and mechanical services company working across water, fuel, and infrastructure projects. We are looking for an experienced Excel freelancer to build a practical, easy-to-use spreadsheet that helps us:
Prepare accurate project quotes
Track costs against budget
Maintain margins throughout a job lifecycle
This tool will be used daily by management and project staff — it must be robust, logical, and idiot-proof (no offence, but job sites happen).
Scope of Works
We require a custom Excel workbook that includes:
1. Quoting / Estimating Sheet
Labour (multiple roles, hourly rates, minimum hours, overtime)
Plant & equipment (weekly/daily rates, standby)
Materials (with markup capability)
Subcontractor costs
Mobilisation / demobilisation
Profit margin controls (hidden or locked formulas)
Automatic totals (ex GST / inc GST)
2. Budget vs Actual Tracking
Ability to enter actual costs as the job progresses
Live comparison: Quoted vs Actual vs Remaining
Visual indicators when costs exceed budget
Summary dashboard per project
3. Controls & Usability
Dropdowns where practical
Locked cells for formulas
Clean layout suitable for non-accountants
Easy duplication for new projects
No macros unless absolutely necessary (preferred formula-based)
