Excel Stop & Mileage Calculator
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I will give you two pieces of information:
• a stop-pay table that mixes flat fees with a few conditional, variable amounts, and
• one flat rate that applies to every mile driven.
From that data I need a single Excel file that does three things for me in one view:
1. lets me record each trip’s stops and miles,
2. automatically calculates the correct stop pay (using the mixed rules I supply) and the mileage pay (flat rate × miles), and
3. shows the running total so I can see what the entire load pays at a glance.
The layout should stay simple—clearly labeled input columns, protected formula cells, and a tidy summary line at the bottom. Native Excel formulas are fine; no macros are required unless they make the sheet noticeably faster to use. Once the workbook is finished I should be able to adjust the stop-pay table or the mileage rate myself without rewriting formulas.
Hand over the finished .xlsx file along with a short note explaining where to update the rates in the future, and we’re done.
